Full Stack Engineer

Full time
London/remote
£55,000 – £75,000

Overview

We’re looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our small but rapidly growing business, to build externally facing products that help us make the roads safer and improve our relationship with our cars.

The ideal candidate will have a high degree of confidence using the following technologies and be happy to learn new skills as and when they are needed:

  • Java or Swift experience
  • Experience using reactive programming techniques

You’ll help us:

  • Build cutting-edge software for our in-car mobile app;
  • Build software layers and an ecosystem which enables other businesses to leverage our in-car mobile application technology.

At Eloy, you’ll get to work with a lot of exciting new technologies. We use:

  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to create engaging and safe driver experiences
  • Geospatial applications for building digital twins of us, our towns and cities, and our cars
  • Reactive extensions and reactive programming techniques for app integrations and data layers

The role

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing innovative new driver-focused products and features, both from the ground up and through integrating with existing parts of our platform.
  • Thinking like vehicle users – and how to improve in-car experiences and services due to connected vehicles.
  • Working closely with the team to build AI/ML models that help our partners research and deploy solutions for road users.

As a Full Stack Engineer and early team addition, you’ll be working with the entire founding team, reporting directly into the CTO. You’ll also get a budget to buy some of your own tech: the team has bought car infotainment systems, GoPros and pieces of robotics to experiment with potential new ideas.

Debugging in-car applications also needs a little bit of creative teamwork (in-car videos and setting up an infotainment system at your desk!) https://dev.eloy.co.uk/eloy-hq/getting-ready-for-apple-carplay-integration

You should apply if

  • You have strong experience in software engineering and you’re excited about building connected car services that we can deploy as we edge closer to autonomous driving
  • You ideally love cars. We are an auto business.
  • You have developed modern component-oriented mobile applications using frameworks and libraries.
  • You’re passionate about security and understand best practices.

Logistics

Salary is the the range of £55,000 to £75,000 base plus other benefits with flexible working hours.

This role will be based in London, but we’re open to distributed working (with ad hoc meetings in London once COVID restrictions are rescinded).

Our interview process is normally an initial phone interview, a coding task and call to discuss it, and final interviews with the founding team.
